Features

  • Added Elder and Predecessor difficulties
    • Incoming damage multiplied by 1.5x and 2.0x, respectively
    • Outgoing damage remains the same as Kin difficulty (i.e. enemies have the same effective health)
  • Difficulty menu now describes features of given difficulty
  • Postprocessing Toggle Added to graphics menu
  • Players can now skip dialogue without needing to look away from the speaker.

Bugfixing

  • Updated music in 1-2 to use most recent version
  • Eliminated unnnecessary level geometry causing enemy OOB errors in BR2
  • Adjusted Shader Quality setting to fix vanishing materials in Low quality
  • Crouching now properly adjusts movespeed and drag
  • Fixed sorting error in Graphics menu
  • Difficulty settings now affect pit damage taken:
    • Hatchling: 0 damage
    • Child: 10 damage
    • Kin: 25 damage
    • Elder: 50 damage
    • Predecessor: Instant kill
  • Adjusted Capboy mesh to significantly reduce clipping w/ camera
  • Fixed loop error on Capboy aerial animation
  • Fixed glitch with Control options toggles
  • Fixed 1-3 Capboy not having proper movespeed
  • Fixed Capboy's additional gravity not resetting on slipdash/knockback
  • Fixed dialogue portraits becoming offset

Adjustments

  • Hatchling difficulty incoming damage mod reduced from ~.66 to .6
  • Child difficulty incoming damage mod reduced from ~.83 to .8
  • Created new, smoother smoke particle fx for 1-3 and 1-X
  • Reduced fresnel on Capboy skin
  • Increased specularity on Capboy carapace
  • Chosen One volley changed from green to gold
  • Chosen One phase 2 flame fx adjusted
  • Fan freeze temperature reduced from -100 to -60
  • Lowered Capboy terminal velocity from 60 to 40
  • Doubled the rate at which text appears in dialogue

Optimization

  • All Shamrocks and Vineborn now have LOD meshes, greatly reducing performance impact when traversing 1-3
  • Condensed Cannoneer matches to use 1 material instead of 2
  • Reduced particle count in 1-3 by >70%
  • Added occlusion culling to 1-X
  • Reduced particle count in 1-X significantly
    • ~6k particles in exterior smoke down to ~1k
    • Didn't record phase 2 og fire partcount, but new partcount is now ~600
  • Added static batching  to 1-2
  • Removed unnnecessary debug log messages
